I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore and co-Program Director for the NUS-TUD Double M.Sc. Degree Program. I received my Ph.D and M.S. degrees from Stanford University, and my B.S. degree (Highest Honors) from Georgia Institute of Technology. I was a recipient of the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 (TR35) Asia Pacific Regional List and the Singapore National Research Foundation (EWT) Ph.D scholarship (Overseas).
I am heading the NUS HydroModelling group. We develop and implement numerical models and high performance computational techniques to study flows in coastal oceans, rivers, lakes and estuaries. Our objective is to develop an integrated approach of understanding our environment by combining numerical models with observations, so that we may be able to determine strategies for urban cities to cope with the increasing demands of climate change and anthropogenic influences.
I am a co-founder of Coast-to-Coast Alumni, a group of young alumni professionals who create fun events that bring great people together to raise awareness and funds for a good cause. Actively involved in philanthrophic causes, I am also a changemaker for the 50for50 project, an initiative to activate 50 changemakers to raise $5 million for charity.
